I did that at my local Big w too. The person on the toys knew what it was when I asked about it, but said it wasn't in yet. I suspect if it isn't in yet but they know what it is, that they know it's arriving soon, or it has but they have other products to put out first. Needless to say I am checking again today.

Makes me wish I had a everyday rewards card. My mentality tends to be I would rather pay full price pre-sale to secure what I want. I am getting a impression that big w stay are getting asked alot about merchandise from the toy sale already. Just hope we all manage to get one. It's metroplex all over again.

Either way, as I understand it, Devy is $198 when he's released, although whether it goes up in price post-sale, I wouldn't know.

There's also the case that Devastator will be at other stores later this year and could actually be cheaper at other stores (as happened with Metroplex). So missing out in the first release may not be the end of the world.

Big W Geelong apparently has none yet even though my friend sighted one being bought there today. It's very frustrating as I was like the first to put my name down at midnight last night.

The practices of Big W during these sales is disgraceful and bordering on illegal. During the last toy sale I was trying to track down some LEGO and no store (Altona, Werribee, Sunshine) had it in stock and I got conflicting answers about why there was none/ when it was coming in. It appears that a number of items that are on 'SALE' never actually get stocked during the sale or a very limited amount of the items are available. Staff reps took down my name and number and promised to call me - but even after 2 months I have not received any call.

The same thing is appearing to be happening with Devastator. I called the Altona store (I forgot that they were one of the smaller stores and not stocking D) and they told me that they were not answering any questions about the Toys on sale and that I had to come into the store. I went in and was told that they had none on order and were not stocking.

(My mother-in-law then went in this morning to check anyway and she was first told that they had none and then we she asked to order one she was then told that they had sold all their stock in the first hour and that she should have got there at 7am! - which appears to be an outright lie.)

I then had difficulties even getting a straight answer yesterday evening when ringing Sunshine (not stocking), Werribee (truck should be coming in at midnight - lol!) and HighPoint (have them on order but not sure when coming in.)

It is quite annoying when the answers you get are inconsistent. Called up doncaster and they said no one in Melbourne got it cause there's a delay on delivery. So then why did Eastland tell me it got sold out within first 10min of opening? And then waverley garden would take my name and allocate stock, but doncaster won't allow me.

Hang in there Iceman, when they called they said that my name was being added as a lay-by....(it didn't fill me with optimism and it is possible they will say that I will be getting devy in the november stock :() I was the third person on the list btw and until VIC starts seeing stock the only thing I am staying positive for is that the catalogue states "first at Big W", so possible that Target/Kmart/Myer may also stock it in the future.... here's hoping it's Metroplex all over again....and not MP Soundwave

Big W Geelong called me today and said they were putting my Devestator away. I went in tonight and they had it at the laybuy department. However the lady looked confused and her coworker said they weren't in yet and no one had seen them. I was getting pretty pissed off at this point but remained calm, and eventually they found it.

Funny thing is, those sorts of shopping centre rides have to be retired eventually... so imagine reserving it and then buying it when it does get retired.

I get the feeling that shopping centres contract the supply, management and maintenance of these kiddy rides to an external company that specialises in these machines on a lease agreement rather than buy them outright. The rides would more likely be taken back by this company and refit with a new shell and livery to meet current trends as the 'engine' of the ride is pretty simple and can be easily rebuilt/repurposed.

The old shells probably become landfill (or end up on ebay) but you could call such a company to see what they do with them.

Just picked up my hold of Devy from Werribee Plaza Big W. None were on the shelves anywhere I could see though. I got in at 12:00am the night of the sale and was first on the list. I checked their list again last Thursday and it had a lot of people on it. So sadly I would presume none will be getting put out on shelves, unless someone doesn't pick up their hold. However it might be worth a call to them, to see if they have any extras out back as they only came in today Good luck :)

As for the $10 Beast Hunter deluxes though, they have about 20 of each one. In the transformers section and the shoe section near layby.

A bit of a shame on how this is handled. I was in Southland yesterday arvo and was told they have sold out and will not be getting any more in. Was told that what has come in has gone to people on the list.

When I asked how to get my name on the list, was told they aren't taking names?! Strange logic loop.

I had been into Werribee a day earlier and was told the same thing.

Frustrating that it seems like I'm missing out by hours.

Its easy to understand why scalpers can charge what they charge as when you factor in the cost of traipsing across multiple Big W stores in Melbourne, only to get the runaround... it all adds up.

Here's a NON-sighting - no CW Devestators at Big W Fountain Gate as they haven't got them in yet. They did, however, allow me to Lay-By one for when they do come in.

They also didn't have any of the TFPrime Beast Hinters deluxes (I'm hoping for a Smokescreen).

On a non-Transformers note, they still have 2 Lego Helicarriers as of right now. Can't see them lasting long.

I have a funny feeling that they don't have one for me at all, and once my Lay-By is paid off, they will have to refund me. The whole Big W Devy thing was a stuff up from start to finish.

It's all good though, he'll be available again in larger numbers in a few months.

That is a real mystery.

Maybe it is something that someone has managed to return from something similar that they bought there that they wanted... and it was then put out the back to find out why it wasn't in the system when they tried to sell it, and it got lost out the back for the last two years.
As far as I can tell, it was not released here or found anywhere else... so the mystery is how did this one get there, if this is the same one you saw in 2013, and if it is, where has it been for the last two years.

(or maybe they are coming to Target as old stock this year... and that one two years ago was sample stock that someone left at the store and it was put out to sell by accident)

Found some G1 goodness at Just collectables in Mount Waverley today ,picked up G1 smokescreen ,bluestreak for $65 each and Starscream with box for $120
They have a Seaspray and powerglide loose $20 each ,also saw Blaster and commemorative hoist ,grapple ,Takara Hound.

They all have all the rest of the stock you'd expect though. RID one step, 3 step, legion, warrior, super bumblebee, deployers.
CW Deluxe wave 1 voyager wave 1 leader wave 1 legends wave 1 and the new legions
Plus leftover AOE stuff like construct bots, one steps, and stomp and chomp Grinlock
Also did the catalogue say Warriors were on sale? Since in store they're only $23 right now. Makes me hope wave three shows up before the sale is over

Toyworld Highpoint had a 4-step changer of RID Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in the range. Very basic looking & voyager size. Price was around twenty-something dollars. First time I've seen it anywhere & couldn't find it in the First Sightings thread, but I could be wrong.
EDIT: Price is $26.99. Could be an old RID wave.


TRU Highpoint had the sale tab for the RID legion size 2-packs for $14.99 (save $10). Grabbed the Optimus Prime & Megatronus pack. At the counter, found out the sale price was valid to 14/7/2015, but they gave me the discount. :) Not sure if they removed the sale tab.
