I think Robotkingdom could still end up being cheaper.
Their 25th deluxes are US$14 (about AU$21) and Inferno is US$28 (about AU$42), before shipping. Or at least, an alternative option for those not keen on using ebay.
But yes, we should have these very soon here. I bought the 2 combiner sets from RK, and before they got to me, or within days of getting them, they were being sighted locally...

Notice how he now gives a list of reasons and clauses on all of his KO transformer listings to cover his bases. He never used to do this. I think it was after he sold me the KO G1 Ravage and I had a huge debate with him that he decided that he wasn't always going to get away with dodgy sales unless he made a few changes to his listings.

Just wanted to 'share' that I'm stoked that I managed to get a 20th Ann Optimus Prime for $106 from within Oz!! :)

Anyway, main thing I was wondering is how people are expecting the US law changes (coming into effect February, requiring that toys sold on retail must be checked for paint lead content) will affect ebay dealers?

It seems to me that if the enforcement is strict, we should see price drops as dealers try to sell of stock quickly... although we'd still be disadvantaged with the prices we have to pay for postage from the US...

I just bought G1 grimlock complete with box, slag with his missile launcher and missiles and a grimlock pretender shell with grimlock for $123 and that's with postage from canada. I had a good look at the figures and both grimlock and slag's chrome is fantastic a few lose parts but still in very very good condition.

I already have a grimlock and slag but my partner she loves grimlock and wants a g1 one but when she saw the pretender grimlock she fell in love with it and called it him a "baby grimlock" lol, when I saw her face fall in love with him I had to get him for her.

That's because a fort max head is like, rare... A worn springer weapon aint. If he is valuing stuff based on size and the price one small (super rare) item goes for, I'd hate to see what he prices the actual figures at. A complete springer WITH gun AND sword wouldn't go for more than $100. At that price, he'd be charging $100 for just the two accessories, and who-knows-what for the actual figure...

This is only the 2nd springer gun I've seen for individual sale in a year. $55 is just stupid, but I think $5 is a tad low considering this item is a scarce find. Maybe around $9AU?

Hi Guys,

I tried to grab a few Animated Voyagers from Carrie and Co.....

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!

I paid her and waited for 2 weeks. Emailed her and she asked me for my orders (SHE FORGOT!!). Then she said she'll mail it at the end of the week. After a few days after the weekend's gone by, i emailed her again and she said she had hundreds of wreck gar order to sort out and ask that i be patient.

Concerned by then i opened a paypal dispute. She suggested a plan to me:

1) She'll refund the money to me.
2) I re-pay her the amount (so i can get extended time for paypal protection instead of the 45days)
3) Then she'll send me my items.

In the end, she refunded the money to me and........ i never proceeded with the plan. TOo risky now....

SO...... the seller doesn't have STOCK in hand. She's apparently still waiting for her supplier to supply her stock.

The bulk lot - even if the Constructicons are KOs, there is a lot of stuff in there that'd be worth the current bid price (and even a bit above it). Hungrrr looks faded, and everything else looks legit. And they prefer alternate payment methods, but doesn't say they won't accept paypal, because it is in the payment options section (and I think you have to now anyway).

I don't think $1000 is completely and utterly unreasonable. It's certainly at the high end without a box but its definitely like new.
A couple of years ago i paid $1300USD shipped for an unused Fort Max with the most phenomenal box i'd ever seen on ebay so i jumped. thank god he threw in free shipping though so effectively $1200 i guess.

Otherwise, since there are three of you, and each really want the toy, it'd probably be best that you each bid on it to like normal. Speaking of "mint", do you know what the term means? It isn't relative, you can't say "in my opinion the item is mint". If something is "mint" then it's new - untouched - pristine. It's an absolute. So how, in your opinion, does something that's been opened, played with, discoloured and repainted qualify as untouched?

Perhaps you should try reading those guides you sell, and maybe a dictionary while you're at it.

He claimes he has not restored or repaired it, yet listing it as a custom and the fact that he has spent 50 hours repainting all the parts is a contradiction. Definitely an overly long description. Because Bumblebee had a new head the set was very popular, sold out everywhere pretty quick and the value peaked a couple of years back at around $175 AUD. Of course when the Encore Minibots came out with another Bumblebee (which is most likely what you've seen for $30) the value crashed right down to about half that. It's still more desirable than the Encore set because it's part of the book-box reissues and people like having the whole set, but this guy is over a year late to get the price he wants.

If it was $1000 BIN my I possibly would have bitten. :o Previous auctions have gone for well over $1000 for just one cassette without the box.

The actually look good when combined but as individual cassettes they mostly arn't that great.

Oh. It's stupid guy again. The "i am an avid collector for over 16 years and know what im talking about" guy. The person who put paint on almost every inch of a Fortress Maximus and "said near mint cuz he has joints ever so tight, no chips or breaks, nothing replaced, nothing scratched and looks as new. thank you but i do know what mint is. have you ever heard of mlc (mint, loose and complete)?. you didnt think of that did you?" guy. The "this is a custom. this guy is worth over $1500 complete and in u.s dollars ($2200 Au)" and yet he couldn't sell it for $500 guy.

It's Machine Wars, which was released in 1997. Definitely not G1, which ended 1991-93, depending on your perspective.

Machine Men/Gobots, yes. It is fairly common on ebay though for people to label a variety of convertable toys as Transformers just for buyer familiarity. It's usually not intended to decieve, if it isn't used to describe a KO.

Please refrain from using derogatory terms here. You can point out what someone is doing that is wrong, but just don't call them names. And ease up on the criticism too once the point has been made. We are all aware of what this particular dealer has done with that Fort Max, we don't need to continue crucifying him over it. It's just petty, and makes us look bad.

We can alert the members here of any dodgy behaviour on ebay, but leave it at that. That is all we can do here. We don't have the authority to hound ebayers as if we are some elite source that they should bow down to or follow.

That looks to be a counterfeit Guard City. As Jay pointed out, Battle Gaea is the Combaticons redeco, Guard City is the Protectobot redeco.
Either way, that's a lot of money for a counterfeit Transformers toy.

I think it's an honest mistake on therawhyde's part. They don't sell KO's and I do believe they have no specialisation/knowledge of vintage jap G1's. I could be wrong though.
