Not really. One comes with the bird-breast (which would "complete" Deathsaurus), while the other one comes with the lion-breast... but since Deathsarus comes with a lion-breast anyway, the second one is redundant.

I like the way they did it. It comes w/ Eagle-breast in breastplate mode which helps make Deathzaras not look incomplete, but including Eagle Breast and Lion-Breast in their robot modes w/ Optimus Prime & Hot Spot gives an incentive to complete the set, but without 'compromising' Deathzaras. I would've been mighty unhappy if Deathzaras had been left bare-chested (cos these toys cost $9.95 here, appear to be a Miracle Supermarket exclusive, and I didn't see OP).

seems to be the Australian retailers are missing out, so my advise would be to order online as you can get these waves quicker than waiting of them to appear instore. don't know if the global economy is to blame as retailers are seeing that most customers are really not buying to much at the moment as they are saving their money rather than spending.

Unfortunately Hasbro packed only 4 deluxes and 2 Voyagers in Wave 1 (with 3 Bumblebees and 3 Primes per case!), so we see a large number of Bumblebees that just sit. Replacement waves still have Bumblebees, so we get more Bumblebees on top of already present Bumblebees.

Stores have new stocked dispatched based on inventory levels, however all Deluxe TFS are one code, not individual codes for individual characters. Therefore a store may have 2 or 3 particular characters in enough quantity to require a new shipment.

Still wishing case breakdowns were more like they were back in the days of Animated.

The case allocation system causes problems with ordering from overseas too - most TF webstores will charge a premium for short-packed characters (FOC Shockwave is a good recent example), or not even give you the choice and make you purchase the whole case. Yeah, because I need 2 shit-brick FOC Optimus Primes like I need a hole in the head.

Hasbro will eventually learn that they reached Bumblebee saturation-point a loooong time ago. It's a crap system that will surely change in the near future since the current system just isn't working. Surely.

Do the math on petrol/transportation/time/frustration spent looking for figures like this and you'll realise what I did a long time ago. I haven't bought a TF from a bricks and mortar store in a veeeery long time. If I need a figure in my collection I've learnt not to trust the inept stock practices of Kmart/Target/etc for anything beyond wave 1.

Having said that, some fans love the thrill of the chase...

Aah, the joys of uber expensive marked up import prices. :) At least this time Toys R Us weren't silly enough to make their Hasbro version of this toy that expensive... remember when TRU were selling the Hasbro G1 reissues for about $70 each and for about the same price you could buy the equivalent Takara G1 reissue from local import stores? Little wonder TRU's reissues shelfwarmed so badly! Mind you, it would've been damn hard for TRU to justify that kind of price considering that Hasbro MP Rodimus doesn't come w/ the trailer... still... look at their Ghost Starscream price. :rolleyes:

I can understand import store prices being massively expensive -- a lot of that is due to import taxation, levies, excise, duties etc. that the government slaps on as a form of protecting local retailers... but I find it funny when a local retailer (like TRU) sells a similar product for the same price as import stores!

Unfortunately I don't think that'd be the case dude;
Sadly the likely reason isn't due to Uncle Pete's having their own supplier, but rather the fact that HasbroAU couldn't sell the Generations: FoC stock to major retailers (Like Big W, Kmart, Target etc) due to those chains having overstocked on Wave 1 TF:Prime figures that aren't selling at all - Caused by a lack of a widely viewable tie-in medium (TF:Prime is a PayTV exclusive in AU) & poor long-standing sales tactics by HasbroAU's reps. :(

In short, you're best bet is to just head online man. :o

I think it was a misplaced tag or item. Big W winston hills didn't have the same for the Voyagers.

Walked into Gametraders Blacktown today and got a surprise:
- Various Micron legends figures, such as (using Amarda names) Ironhide, Smokescreen, Demolishor and a few others, prices ranging from $30 to $60.
- Cybertron minicon 2 packs for $20 each
- Japanese Beast Wars anniversary Wolffang (I think) and Rhinox for $40 without the DVD
- Micron legend SFC (non transforming) and G1 Rodimus SFC (non transforming) for $30
- Chibi Rodimus and Megatron (g1) figures (transformable, deformed style) $20 each
- Reissue Ironhide and Ratchet for $70 each.

A few more items, including the newly released G1 season 3 & 4 remastered set for $30. Hopefully there are more lines and figures on their way...

O M G ! ! ! I finally found proper Transformers Karaoke!!! :eek: :eek: :eek: Story time!! :D

I've been frequenting Karaoke boxes for 15 years now, and every time I go, I look for Transformers songs, but I never find them. The closest would be something like a Linkin' Park TF song or one of the generic songs that they have in the live action films (Lord_Zed once sang "Second To None" ;)). But I've never found actual Transformers songs at Karaoke -- i.e. songs written for Transformers that explicitly sing about Transformers. I pretty much assumed that these things just don't exist... but ya know... for some reason, I never stopped looking. But I never EVER expected to find anything! So yesterday we went out for Karaoke... and I thought, yeah, whatever, there's not gonna be any Transformers stuff here... I'll sing my usual fair of other anime and Sentai/Tokusatsu songs etc. -- but lo and behold, I found (and sang) the following tunes:

Uncle Petes have plenty of FoC Jazz, Shockwave and Optimus Prime. They did have 1 of each (yes just 1) of the Combaticons but I grabbed them.

Myers and David Jones had. Well nothing really. DJ had a remote contol Bumblebee from go knows when, not the prime version, but that was it and Myers had 1 deluxe wheeljack, 1 or 2 commander optimus primes and the prime helmets.

Japan gets stock in on a Sunday?! Guess that makes sense considering their postal system operates 7 days - my sis mentioned that they do 4 rounds a day? And when she paid for furniture to be delivered after 7pm, sure enough there they were.

I had similar positive customer service experiences in HK - I remembered a girl telling me what years certain toys were released :)

Which is odd because one of the managers of Uncle Petes is an old family friend. She never knows whats coming in or exactly when it is, just a rough time frame. But she always tells me how the owner is off buying stuff for the stores.
Toyworld Kiama is the same. The owners are always talking about toy shows and when stuff is getting released but not what. They always tell me nothing is available until such and such but I find it elswhere. I once found something at the Woolworths down the road after I was told by Toyworld that nothing was being released until after some toy show

Additionally there isn't a way to search them on a system, and TBH it would take more hours than anyone has in their day to find out the individual wave numbers and product codes for every single product that someone like Target would stock.

There is an 8 digit number, usually found on the shelf price labels, that tells you how many items you have in stock, however it covers the whole line (ie: 1 code for all deluxe figures in a single line), so won't give any notice about which figures would be coming in the next shipment.

So please, ease up on the service assistant who's trying to do the best they can for you, with the resources they have available.

I never give them grief. Some guy was abusing a couple of staff members at TRU last week. When one went to check he gave me a smile so I asked him if he felt like a big man now. He got even more agro. Couldn't even explain what the problem was. Ended up storming out.

I've worked with a large department store in customer service and corporate as well, and understand those sentiments. Even managers aren't readily provided with the information of what's in specific boxes/waves. When I was in customer service (toys), I did make calls to head office to make an enquiry on behalf of customers who seemed desperate enough (usually for Thomas the Tank Engine toys). The level of information is just not readily in reach (in a system or stock advice comms) for line staff/management, as opposed to the correlating team in said department store's electronics department (despite electronics having a much lower margin of profit) :(

My comment was coupled with a second comment on level of detail Japanese customer service goes through - not speculating on whether that's just trained or a genuine devotion to customer service, but the end result is there.

Staff is asking what the big deal is. He asked if people are reselling. But I think they should leave some store stock and not reserve everything specially for new release - whatever happened to "first come first serve".

I just thought it would be too much hassle to talk to someone who didn't know what I was asking about and drove there.

I spent half my afternoon/evening calling TRUs yesterday and spending most of that time being put on hold, and when you finally get through, people don't know what you're talking about (the number of times they thought I meant Ultimate Optimus Prime or Optimus Maximus, even when I quote the SKN to them); and a lot of times they either told me that they did have the toy in stock (but after I insisted on a physical check, verified that they didn't) - and in the case of Caso TRU, telling me that they were out and after insisting on a physical check, confirmed that they weren't!! :rolleyes: Apparently there's only 2 per case (not surprising considering the size). So if you want this toy sooner rather than later, be prepared to call around and go through the whole rigmarole multiple times in the vague hope of being able to reserve one -- but don't get your hopes up. I went through a LOT of hassle yesterday and came out empty handed, then perserved this morning, and that's how I got the toy.

Yesterday TRU head office told me that there's deliveries scheduled today and Monday, which means that the toys may arrive at some TRUs either today or Monday. But there's also a chance that the toys may arrive tonight and sit in the back room over the weekend -- so keep on trying. If you call up on Sat or Sun, get them to check the back room, palettes etc., because head office told me that they don't do deliveries or shelving on weekends, so if the assortments arrive tonight, they're going to sit on palettes until the next scheduled shelving on Monday.

How long are these reserves valid? If people are wanting them so much, the reserve time should be limited. If you don't get em today, it should be for sale for others tomorrow or something like that.

I am so fed up hunting MP OP down, been checking TRU Hurstville every day for last 2 weeks during my lunch break and nothing, go to Moore Park TRU and again nothing. Now the one weekend I don't go to Miranda there were 2 there.

I don't enjoy the thrill of the hunt especially since I know it will be a short shipment just like the Marvel Legends 2012 was shortpacked. It really is cheaper just getting it online rather than wasting time and money ringing up and driving around. Again, the typical retailers just keep wondering why Aussies shop more online overseas these days.....:rolleyes:

Shame that we are waiting desperately for Wave 2, 3 & 4, but Hasbro AUS decides to release these Wave 1 "special editions" instead.

Found and bought three remaining TF3 capsules from Bankstown BigW, but all three were the same Optimus figure. :(

The Reissue Fort Max was on my mind, but the price of this one was what took me a day to convince myself to buy it, after weighing up the pros and cons...

Pros (reasons to buy it)
There was no Metrotitan reissue with Metroplex, so the odds of a Grand Max reissue is slim.
Similar to Metroplex, I'm thinking that after Fort Max is released, the initial fan-surge pre-order will account for most of the interest/sales, making this thing shelf-warm, as it will be an over-sized, expensive brick to everyone else who wasn't a Gen1 fan (as Metroplex was).
If a reissue Grand Max did happen, the chances of it having the pretender shell is slim (maybe Metrotitan wasn't released because it would have been rejected by fans if it didn't have the added Micromaster to make it complete)
It was in Australia, so cheaper shipping (if I got it posted) or easier to bring back on a plane (if I picked it up).
I could check to make sure it was complete and legit (if I picked it up in person)... as I was able to organise payment in person.
It was cheaper than what most boxed-complete Grand Max toys go for these days (usually getting up to about $5000).
It would get me out of the house for an adventure, even if it was just for the day.
Having an original Grand Max would be pretty neat, over having a reissue.
There was a chance he had some other Gen1 JP TFs, so would have been even more worth getting this one.
Having the biggest ever general-release TFs toy, is kinda required in a collection as big as mine. :p


Cons
$3500 is a lot of money for a singe toy, no matter how much money you have to burn.
The chance of a Grand Max reissue is possible, which would only be about $400.
If a reissue ended up being similar to the original, it's not the sort of toy that people would care if someone had an original version.
I was thinking about on getting the Fort Max reissue because it has the sword, while mine had missing stickers (which are now fixed)... so now that I have the Master Sword from Grand Max, I'm not feeling like getting the reissue Fort Max now.
I'd get all the way down there and he couldn't make the pick up... or there was something wrong with the toy.
