I believe TRU got the legend class figures first, as they are available at Parra TRU and not anywhere else, which is odd as the bigger ones would be a better Christmas present while these are more of a stocking stuffer.

They did have 4 Prowls and at least 6 Sunstorms without any wire, stickers etc. no Wheeljacks. They did have another MP looking box up very high but I couldn't determine what it was.

Otherwise they only had a plethora of old boring stock, including Prime Laserbeak.

And I noticed that the spider wire was slightly digging into the top edge of the back of the box. Nothing major, but it could potentially bother people who would like an otherwise pristine box.

Note that the Hasbro version has an added "Ages 15+" sticker on the front which the TakTOM version lacks (their age advisory is printed in Japanese on the bottom of the box)

I've seen plenty of Pop Vinyls nowadays. It seems that no matter where you go there will probably be a couple there.

I've only ever seen Pop at Eb games and Gametraders. The Gametraders in Campbelltown had hundreds when I was there this weekend, however they had sold out in the Dancing Groot.:( But they had at least 50 of Rocket.:rolleyes: They also had the AOE ones but i'll probably get them from Amazon at one point, I do wish they did a Lockdown from AOE though.:D

In fact I saw a bundle that had 3 masterpieces at around the same price as the Streak.
A significant part of it is because the Australian government slaps on a variety of import taxes, duties, levies etc. which they must pay, which invariably drives the cost of the imported toys up. It's seen as a form of market protection for the local industry. But Games Infinity have still always been overpriced, even for an import store. Back when Sydney used to have significantly more specialty import stores, most of their competitors were notably cheaper than Games Infinity.

Basically the average import store charged about the same price as Toys R Us. I remember when Hasbro were releasing their G1 book-box reissues at TRUs here, the initial cost was so expensive that it was about the same price as a Takara Transformers Collection reissue purchased from an Australian import store! Needless to say, most people just went and bought the Japanese versions; cos for approx. the same price, why not get the Japanese reissues that don't skimp on chrome, have full strength launchers, correctly sized missiles, include file cards etc.; it was just better value for money. :o TRU only became competitive later when the reissues had been shelfwarming for ages and they significantly slashed the prices of reissues down, but by that time, most importers had already sold off most of their stock. :o

As you saw, Games Infinity sells their MP cars from $150-200 each. Toys R Us sells theirs for $100 each; and if the other importers were still around, they'd probably sell their MP cars for about $100 each too. I do understand that imports are more expensive for reasons beyond the retailer's control, but Games Infinity's prices go well above that; which is why I never shop there. Just occasionally walk in and laugh at their prices. ;)

Yeah the decline of Uncle Pete's is actually a bit confusing, the only ones that are around according to the website are Castle Towers, Brookvale, Manly Vale, and Erina. Despite this there are still a few more around, like Tuggerah and Macarthur. There used to be one at Blacktown that I always loved to go to but that's now a Dick Smith :(
It's a shame but I most likely will be saying goodbye to my Childhood once the one at Castle Towers shuts down.

I didn't know about this, but it's unsurprising really. That is was my closest toy store so whenever I was in town I would wander in but they never had anything new. The TF section, as of 2 weeks ago, was STILL clogged with DOTM toys like leader Sentinel Prime for $99 and RTS Tracks for $30. So if they stocked other lines like they did TFs then this was really inevitable.

I remember once they had an Encore Sky Lynx, with a severely damaged box, for $250 :eek:

It happens but I love going to Uncle Pete's/Toyworld/Casey Toy's/Toymate/Whatever it's called because they usually stock toys you can't find anywhere else. Toymate at Ryde has some Transformers that aren't normally available anymore (like the Prime deluxes), Uncle Pete's at Tuggerah turned into a place which had Transformers nowhere else had for a while (I got Prime deluxe Rumble and Kup from there, and was also the first place I saw Jetfire when it was $79.99!), and even a few other stores had stuff you can't find anywhere else. It's a shame to see stores like Wollongong and Blacktown to be shut down, but it's no surprise when the only ones that the website mention are still open are the ones in Castle Hill, Erina, Brookvale, and Manly Vale, and even the one in Erina was closed for a while due to a fire.

EDIT: ok so the ones at Tuggerah and Macarthur square aren't mentioned on the Uncle Pete's website, but are mentioned on the Toymate website.

I have been looking in the Tuggerah store about twice a week since it opened. So far I have only bought two transformers from them. Thats only two new first finds in all that time. WFC Megatron and Darkmount when they first came out. Even my 7 year old Son knows its a lost cause looking every week.

Its Sad but I know why they close down. The NEW Casey's is just as bad since it got the new owners after the original owner Ron sold it. Then it started to suck with the second owner... Then the third owners after the Fire and the shop is really bad. So bad in fact I wish it never reopened. It sure as hell should not be pretending to be Casey's Toyworld a shop I have been with since the early 1980s. The original Caseys was Huge and had some Awesome stuff. People had a reason to travel to Erina for a toy hunt. But not now.. Its just the same as Tugerah and Toymate. :(

I used to go to this Toyworld in Port Macquarie and it had a lot of stuff. However sometime between 2012 and 2014, they moved from near Settlement City to a smaller shop in the CBD and it was just depressing. I expected so much but there was just so little. The amount of Transformers they had there was forgettable and it was really disappointing :(

Target blacktown has shrunk their toy section down to about 1/3 of it's size. Only one half aisle of Lego and only about a metre length of tf stuff that was full of mashers. Weird as the other local targets still have a decent size toy section.

Nothing to report from blacktown big w or Kmart either. It's a sorry little area for tfs and it bothers me that the tf section is do little and full of utter crud when we are meant to finally be getting some good toys in the near future.

you've got the major 3, kinokuniya, kings and hobbyco. Comic Kingdom is on Liverpool street but they are stuck in the dark ages, make sure you step on the sides of the stairs when checking out their second level.

Went in to The new Shellharbour TrU yesterday looking for some CW figures. They had such an impressive TF section when they first opened I was convinced that they'd be on the ball with the latest releases.

Well wasn't I disappointed. It was exactly the same as last time I was there. Hardly any stock had moved at all, or they had so much of the same stuff out back that they were just putting the same stuff back as it was sold. The only noticeable change was MP Wheeljack was gone and they had 2 MP Bumblebee's.

Everything else was as it was about 6-8 weeks ago :( And in case you're wondering, that consisted of Leader Jetfire, MP Grimlock, Sunstorm and Prowl, AOE stuff, etc.

Saw something interesting at Kmart today. It appears they have price tags for CW Deluxes, Voyagers and Leaders. It couldn't be the AOE Gen figures as these had a different code on them along which a sticker saying 'Product currently unavailable', the AOE figures were also in a completely different section aswell since they were all on clearance. The AOE Gen deluxes are $29 where as these tags say $25 for deluxes, but unfortunately $49 for Voyagers and $89 for Leaders.:( They also had tags for RID Warrior class figures.

I've started up this year's price-comparison listing here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=20279)... which has Kmart and TRU prices of most GEN and RID sizes (they are already in their systems). Other store chains don't yet have them in their computer systems, so must be still some way off for them getting those lines.

Went into TRU Wollongong yesterday, there is a sole CW Armada Megs there and the Manager stated that that is likely the only CW they'll get as they're just not receiving new stock. :o

Looks like I'll have to head to TRU Shellharbour for the 1st time and see if I can grab me a Powerglide! :D

any Targets in your area... Target has them out now as well. I managed to find a G1 version Megs on Parra Target, among 6 Armada versions, talk about shortpacked. :p and yeah the littluns and the CW deluxes are out at Target now too...well in Parra they are... nice 20% sale price I got too. :)

Not alot in penrith as well, BigW and Target same stuff. Aoe stuff and CW stuff at Target. BigW have nothing, they have only a couple of pegs and not anything really worth it.

TRU in penrith has a few RID's one step BB and sideswipes. And deluxe Grimlock, steeljaw, strongarm. Also have 6x MP BB's, heaps of Sunstorms, 1x Ultra Magnus.

It's a small world. Thundercracker is a good office cubicle toy. Small, simple to transform and you don't mind others playing with it. I mainly got him to paint the Aussie flag across his wings and figured a blue figure was a good starting point.

Burwood target have a lot of wave 1 & 2 aoe power battlers, plenty of wave 1 combiner wars legions, deluxes and voyagers, but only about 4 armada megatrons.
No g1 megs in sight sadly.
Kmart burwood had squat. Nadda. Zippo. Well maybe like 4 hero mashers figures that every store has. So pretty much nothing.

That's funny I grabbed a g1 megatron yesterday arvo from there but don't get to post that the was one left. I also got a chomp and stomp Grimlock, missing just prime and the sword and I scored that for $50.

There's only been one sighting of Huffer and Blackjack at a Target IIRC, and given how widespread the rest of the stuff is, that seems a bit iffy now :confused:
