Went to check Kmart Broadway for any Wave 2 yesterday, they didn't have anything new but they do have Studio Ratchet and Stinger for $29 each if that interests anyone.

On the other hand, Target Broadway has Wave 2 Prime Masters and Voyagers! 1 each of Alpha Trion/Landmine and Alchemist/Submarauder, two Elita-1's and a Hun-Gurrr left as of yesterday afternoon. Quite the pleasant find!

I think there was some theorising that it's because the Bumblebee movie got pushed back, so a VW Bee figure was pulled from Wave 1 cases and hastily replaced with this one instead - so hastily they couldn't reach the right number. Of course there's nothing to back it up, but it's a possibility since lots of people have noticed a lack of Bumblebees; I've only ever seen two in all my hunting so far.

When I've seen almost newly restocked shelves it seems like the cases have been packed with equal numbers of figures.

I think Bumblebee is still naturally more popular than the others among the general public (despite the number of releases he has had) and so sells first.

SS: 1 Grimlock, 2 Ratchet, 4 Stinger, 5 Crowbar.
PotP: 1 set of wave 1 deluxes.
In the "clearance" aisle (1 aisle over from the Transformers section):
TR: 5 Triggerhappy, 5 Krok, 5 Twinferno, 6 Quake
In the middle of the walkway on the way to layby, near the shoe section:
11 Octane, 12 Blitzwing.
And near layby is a wire tub that has 2 sets of wave 1 PotP deluxes.

I didn’t realise the MP Barricade was a new figure or anything. I saw it on Saturday at Penrith tru and thought it was part of the movie series rereleases.

The price was insane and I thought it was a mistake as part of their sale (not the only one my wife and I saw). Penrith has at least eight of them, on the waist height shelf, so I expect their pristine boxes won’t stay that way long.

I was wondering if TKMaxx was going to end up with Transformers at some point, as the US company TJMaxx would have the occasionally have discounted TFs there. I've been meaning to check out the one nearest me for ages, but keep forgetting.

This is a retailer who doesn't generally stock ongoing product lines - they are more like the Reject Shop, and get in bulk lots of discounted products, and once they are gone, that's all they had.

I suppose one sly way to test it is, when a new series' Wave 1 hits shelves, make a small dot with a black Sharpie on the bottom of each blister. Come back in a few weeks or months and if they blisters have the same mark then you know that they're pegwarming and not just restocks. :p Might tick off some MOSC collectors though (although if you only mark the plastic blister, the ink would be easily removable with rubbing alcohol). :p

I reckon it'd be more discreet to use some tiny stickers - much easier to slip on unnoticed, and not as big a problem if a MOSC-type person buys it.

I've done this in the past (for lego) when I suspected the local Kmart was constantly doing a 'bait and switch' every time they had a toy sale. They'd advertise some big-ticket item to get mums in the shop, but lo-and-behold it always sold out right at the start of the sale. So I caught them out with the sticker trick, when *amazingly* the 'sold out' item came 'back in stock' a week or two after the sale (these were high-end legos like Kmart doesn't get anymore - the monster manor, Tantive IV, ATOT/Dropship etc).

Hasbro usually tend to spruik a new line to retailers at toyfairs. So... the buyers order big numbers of first waves.

So... Hasbro then orders lots of wave 1; and often this means that by the the retailers start reordering a size class, we've missed later waves.

Target Kotara still has VW Bumblbee and Shadow Raider (no DOTM Ratchet seen) and still no Terrorcons (though the limited end display and non moving stock is probably preventing them being filled).

That's interesting. I checked out the Lidcombe Toymate last week and Rodimus Unicronus scanned up as $80. They didn't have Sky Shadow. Maybe I'll give the Bankstown store a visit.

I stopped by just incase there was an optimal optimus. The end cap has had some POTP leader class figures placed on it and because nothing is individually priced any dispute would be in the customer's favor.

But there are tonnes of $40 sky shadows and I found wave 3 terrorcons there one of each!

Yeah it scanned at the higher price, but got it matched to $40 because they were placed with all the sky shadows and the few optimus primes with their $40 sale tickets ;)
