Don't bother and whatever you do, don't buy from TRU Bankstown! They are a load of jackass's!

I bought Prime from them, got him home and found that he was missing a screw from the left side window, took him back and asked for another one. They agreed, I got the replacement home and open it, the back part of right arm (the folding part) was so lose it was almost falling off!

So I went back again and they said there was nothing wrong with it and wouldn't take it back or give me a replacement!

Spent almost half an hour fighting with them until they agreed to refund me and won't sell me another one, because I'm too ''meticulous'', their words.

So do yourself a favor, don't buy from TRU Bankstown!

I'm going to check other TRU's for MP Prime, I'll post if I find one.

No, couldn't be repaired. The problem was with the part on the back of the arm that folds down, the pin holding it in place was lose and so the whole part won't stay in place.

Nope, none on the shelf because they are holding them all in the back room. They've got loads of them, maybe two cases worth and the guy said something about them being too big to keep on the shelf's.

It's a load of crap if you ask me.

I haven't opened mine so I'm not sure if it'll have the issues you got. I haven't heard anyone else needing to have their MP12 replaced.

That's one of the silliest reasons for not selling a high demand figure. Perhaps they thought something of its size and price would just shelf warm.

they may have been thinking of the paperwork they'd have to do if they sold you another and you returned it defective. that's a bit selfish though.

Maybe in a week or two, they'll put them out and I'll be able to go in and inspect them thoroughly prior to purchasing one.

Yeah he could but they did refund him... Better off sending a letter to TRU head office (in Australia) detailing the incident and how he wasn't satisfied with the service.

I believe so, but I'm not certain if it's intentional or part of the transformation mechanism.

Ah I didn't realise they had adapted the transforming mechanism. Only bought a Wave 1 3 pack on clearance and wasn't impressed. May have to buy one to check it out.

I'm preordering a case of that wave from bbts. US$90 for 3 Grimlocks and a Blaster = US$22.50 each (+ shipping). I anticipate keeping one Grimlock for myself and ebay the rest at around $35 depending on what the shipping costs come to. If you haven't already found it locally by the time I get them I can hold one for you and/or make a post in Swindle's Saleyard.

Potentially better than the $50 these will probably be at retail.

Nope, not at all cheap, a ripoff for what is a broken statue, no matter how easy it may be to fix. If it displays alright (hard to think it would with the shoulder being broken) maybe you could haggle them down if you really want it.

My missus paid about $20 for a Wheeljack statue that was broken from kinokuniya years ago, it was easily fixed, so well worth the money. Wouldn't have paid much more than that though.

I would suggest that that's really expensive for what sounds like bad damage.
I feel for the people there, they've had those transformers busts for years, sitting there at $130 - $150. they are nice but that's just too much. you should be able to find an as new one online for half that.

unfortunately the cheapest I can see on eBay right now is about $130. which I find surprising. I'd suggest that you might want to have a hunt around online for it. you'll notice the hard hero busts at Kings can generally be found a lot cheaper online, including shipping.

I have quite a few busts, admittedly I got a few on clearance here and there super cheap, but I've never bought them at close to the Kings prices, I personally just can't justify it. for that money it needs to transform.

I'd suggest that you should be able to find them at K-Marts still, I haven't been paying a lot of attention as I got it ages ago, but I seem to recall having to constantly sift through the megatron and Prime looking for a voyager starscream.

the few K-marts I frequent have the best range of any of the big stores at the moment I think.

Don't bother and whatever you do, don't buy from TRU Bankstown! They are a load of jackass's!

I bought Prime from them, got him home and found that he was missing a screw from the left side window, took him back and asked for another one. They agreed, I got the replacement home and open it, the back part of right arm (the folding part) was so lose it was almost falling off!

So I went back again and they said there was nothing wrong with it and wouldn't take it back or give me a replacement!

Spent almost half an hour fighting with them until they agreed to refund me and won't sell me another one, because I'm too ''meticulous'', their words.

So do yourself a favor, don't buy from TRU Bankstown!

I'm going to check other TRU's for MP Prime, I'll post if I find one.

So the trailer door for MP Optimus Prime must be able to function properly. That is a COMMON use for that part of the toy. If it cannot, then it is not acceptable quality. If you try to stand on the trailer and it breaks, then the retailer does not have to recompense you since it is not a common use of that toy.

A seller can exempt themselves of this by alerting the consumer of any defects (and usually reducing the price accordingly).
Where a seller alerts you to any defects before the purchase, you should inspect before you buy to make sure you are still happy to go ahead. Otherwise you may not be entitled to a remedy.
For example, I bought Armada Powerlink Optimus Prime from... I think it was Toyworld in Wollongong, for only $30 because it was missing one of the smokestack/weapons (and had been opened before and refunded). I cannot then take it back and try to claim recompense because of the missing weapon, because there was a discount sticker that alerted me to the missing accessory.

I've refunded/exchanged faulty carded toys before, such as:
+ RtS Perceptor - massive scratch on one side of his face - got an exchange
+ Generations Drift - came w/ 2 of the same hand - got a refund
^both of these flaws cannot be seen in vehicle mode and were only noticeable in robot mode. When I pointed this out to them, there was no problem in getting an exchange/refund.

IIRC, The PRID line has gone on allocation, meaning it wont be stocked on a regular basis.(think one-off bulk buys)
Generations (FOC) are part of the current range of TF which Kmart carry, albeit at lower stock levels to make room for BH. Computer stock on hand levels could also factor as to why there is no phsical stock on the shelves. If they didnt want to range it, they would.have changed its stock status to clearance or allocation.

We gotta have a sense of humour about it lol. K-mart deluxe used to be $23.75 but they upped the price to $25 when they went to their simpler price scheme (with no sales). Compare that to target which is $29 but they often have sales and I picked up 2 figures for $22.40 and $19.60. If they were priced at $20 (and actually on stock when I went!) then I probably woulda bought all the FOC figures instead of just 4.

Alright, I went for a haircut in Campbelltown Mall today a thought I might go and check what Target and Kmart had to offer.

I stop at Target where there wasnt many figure there: Prime Cyberverse Starscream, Bulkhead, Megatron, and Flamewar for around 7-8 bucks and 3-4 of each figue, Prime Deluxe Knockout x3, Cliffjumper, Arcee and a Hot Shot for around 29-30 bucks.

Then I headed down to Kmart and a lot of figures: Prime Cyberverse Optimus x5-6 $7, Prime Deluxe Soundwave, Cliffjumper x3, Bumblebee, Wheeljack for $25, Prime Voyager Optimus $40. The I found someone of the FOC figures: Deluxe Optimus x4, Sideswipe x2, and Ultra Magnus $25, I also found the disks, with Frenzy and ratbat x8 and Ravage and Rumble x5 for around 15-18 bucks. Now is where I got excited, the Beast Hunters figures: Commanders, Optimus x4, Predaking x9, Bulkhead x4 for $15 I think, it just looked like someone had just restocked the Deluxes, Deluxe Wheeljack x2, Bumblebee x4, Soundwave x5 and Lazerback x5, there was also 4 Voyager Predakings which I was excited about.

Big W Plumpton has a tiny assortment of Beast hunters Wave 1 voyagers and deluxes,plus the playsets.

Strangely, they had 4 of the black and yellow Human Alliance Bumblebee figures from DotM on the shelves. No price tag, and cbf checking, but thought it a funny new item to have on shelves as I do nto remember seeing them before in Big W.

TRU wollongong has beast hunters deluxes, commanders and legions. Although they have rearranged the sections so where transformers used to be at the front of the store, they are now crammed up the back as far as they can be and still be in with the other boys toys. TMNT hold pole position now.

Was at Kmart Stanhope the other day and they're restocked with BH Commanders and Legions as well as Generations Sideswipe, Starscream, Ultra Magnus and Kickback. Most Transformers I've seen on the shelf in a long time.

Kmart Penriff has all the wave one figures from Beast Hunters. A fair few of each.

As well as more FoC Magnus, Screamers etc than you would care to imagine.

They also had some Prime wave 1 Optimus Prime Voyagers left. had them sitting next to the Beast Hunters version. Not a good idea, it looks like the old one is 1/4 the size of the newer version, not going to sell it for the same price! :rolleyes:

Coles Glendale picked up the first wave of Beast Hunters Legions. And Woolworths Warabook got the final(?) wave of DotM Legends (Starscream, Flak, Soundwave). Though I haven't been in there for a bit so they might have something new.

Target Glendale finally got some Beast Hunters stuff. Just the initial waves. But there's a Jetwing Optimus sitting there reduced to like $50. Incredibly teasing. As for Prime stuff, there's a Vehicon still sitting there, Hot Shots, a Ratchet, Bumblebees, Knock Outs, Soundwave. And a lone Voyager Prime. FoC Sideswipes, Primes, Jazzes, Ultra Magnuses.

Checked today and there's no more deluxe generations/FOC at Chatswood Chase K-mart (on the shelves that is). There's just about 6 packs of decepticon minion data discs. At least 6 Predakings (leader class?). I don't really follow the other stuff but there's lots of beast hunters and some bot shot thingos.

Is my problem that I always go and check in the middle of the week before Thursdays and they are just about to stock up for late night shopping or is it just that we're lucky they even decide to stock FOC/generations?

Generation Deluxes are still a current product listing.
There's no rule as to when they restock shelves. Sure, they might have an established roster for filling, ie 5-8pm weekdays, but its all dependant on if the stock.is there to be put on the shelves. Have you asked if there are anymore in their reserves?

I can fully understand the majors responding that way. There literally is no visibility as to what items you'll be getting off the back of the truck. Only info you get told is its 14 pallets of general merchandise and 8 pallets of apparel. That's it.
The Uncle Pete's etc on the other hand have no excuse. They're a speciality store and should be well aware of what's in the pipeline
