Yeah, I think I know who that might've been and if it was him? - At least I know that it was in an effort for other collectors & not a scalper. ;)
That said, it still denies those who live in the local area the opportunity to buy them which sort of grinds on me a bit. :o

Knowing our luck here in the Illawarra, we'll probably miss out on the MP Thundercrackers as it'd just be my luck (Ours collectively I guess) that they either never show up or someone will just buy the lot. :(

When I was in there last the bloke behind the counter told me that to have the best likelihood of finding out what stock they have, to call on a Friday as that is the best time that the staff will know what they've got and it could save one a trip out for nothing. ;)

Trent: doesn't hurt to ring again. I called TRU Caso on a Wed arvo and they told me that they didn't have MP10 -- then Seraphim Prime posts at 18:30 saying that he spotted some there (but I didn't read this post until 22:00). At 09:05 on Thu morning I called them and they told me that they didn't have any, so I insisted on a physical check and they told me they had 2! :eek:

TRU info is so haphazard... really makes me miss the old days when they'd let customers go into the back rooms yourself to check palates. Yes... a friend and I used to do this -- they'd let us in there and crack cases open while still on palates and we'd pick toys straight out of them! I got one of my Transmetals that way, might've been Depth Charge. But that was in the 90s... they sure don't do that anymore. :(

Not a sighting but I spoke to the manager at Kiama Toyworld about FoC Soundwave and Soundblaster. She had no idea but wrote down the details and is now emailing the Hasbro Rep so heres hoping. She asked me how many to put aside. I said the entire case as Illawarra people are chomping at the bit.

Sounds like a mutually beneficial endeavour - for the collector it must have been like Christmas morning (or an addict getting access to a crack lab), and for TRU it meant free slave labour ;)

The access level to the sightings section is something that has been raised before... but it is a difficult balancing act to have the board look open and inviting enough to attract members, but not too open to have people/scalpers take advantage of it. It was suggested to have a separate section for sightings of rarer items that is only accessible by higher ranking members... but we don't have a lot of rare items that are high enough demand to attract scalpers, and it would pad out the board too much if we keep adding sections that aren't used much.

There are still no listings on eBay Australia for MP Thundercracker or Optimus Prime.

It's known that scalpers and non-members use the sightings threads, but so far it's just one jerk at a fair with a MP Optimus. Not like the scalping problems we faced with the 2007 movie line.

And on the flip-side there are collectors who don't want to sign up to this site who see us as the problem, the reason they can't find stock anywhere.

The Preview wave of Kreon minifugures were on the shelf yesterday at Target Carlo. Only 5 available, but bought what I could. No Waspinators. :(

Yea, I noticed that last week when I picked some up. a bit unfortunate but it also makes sense that they'd be grabbed from individual stacks in a handful and placed in the box in one go.

Target Blacktown now has 3x FoC Soundwave, I decided on Soundblaster.
Heaps of FoC wave 1 figures and 1 more full set of Preview wave kreons.

Big W Blacktown have shrunk their TF section to nothing. There are a half dozen Optimus Maximus sets, a few masks and some Botshots, thats it. I'd wager that Big W will not be TF friendly in the future, probably burnt from that terrible exclusive deluxe DotM figure they bought in the squillions.

Parramatta toys and collectibles fair (http://www.collectableandmusicfairs.com.au/). They usually have a fair bit of TF related stuff. But we also use it as a social gathering. It's a great way to meet some other TF nuts. :) come along if you get a chance and also swing by the meetup (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=14715) we are having :)

I went to Macquarie Centre today... couldn't find any store named Toymates... must be new*. The only independent toy stores I found was Giftoys and another one near it -- neither had TFs. :( This shopping centre is out of the way for me, I'm not keen on going back there again unless I know exactly where to find this shop. :( Besides, the only toy there I'd want would be Airachnid, and I already have the Arms Micron version on the way... from all accounts this toy's not worth the time (it added an extra hour to my trip home :() and fuel cost hunting for.

So yeah, if someone else wants to go get it, be my guest. :/

I found it. It's down near the fresh food section. Easiest to find from the entrance near Max Brenner and the cinema. Keep an eye on the directory boards and don't go towards woolies. Considering its location I'm interested to see if this store remains open after Christmas.

You're right about it being new, one of the guys said it opened two weeks ago. Not much in there TF selection, nabbed a Knockout. One Airachnid left, a couple of deadends and plenty off Bb's - stealth and regular. And Cliffs.

It is essentially a dark blue and purple tank and a black something for Ironhide.

I have found a place that has about 5 or 6 sets of the data discs - I can pick up for people if you want but the impression I get is that arent going to be "rare" like the Masterpieces.

I rang kiama toyworld yesterday. A man answered the phone, he said that the importer had run out. And that it may be weeks if not months before they got more. I certainly hope I misunderstood and that they will get more in soon.

on a second note, does anyone feel a little ripped that eject and rewind seem to be the exact same mould as frenzy and rumble...
Its like buying one toy 4 times just to get the ones you want....:eek:
